Connect in under a minute
Pick your client and paste one snippet. Your agent then has live, cited data. No client needs an API key: you sign in with your Tako account instead, and a new account gets up to 2,000 free requests.
- 1.Run these two commands. No API key is needed. The plugin connects on the free tier and installs the Tako research skills.
- 2.Run
/mcp, select tako, then choose Authenticate. An anonymous connection runstako_searchonly; signing in unlocks the other tools and your own limits.

Or add the server directly, without the bundled skills. Keep one Tako connection only. The plugin and a manual entry each register a full set of tools.

- 1.Open Claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- 2.Paste the endpoint, click Connect, and sign in with Tako.

No API key is needed. The sign-in flow handles authorization.
- 1.ChatGPT web: Open Settings → Plugins → Developer mode and toggle it on. Back in Plugins, click the + to add a new plugin, give it a name, and paste the connector URL.
- 2.ChatGPT / Codex app: Open Settings → Plugins → Add MCP server, give it a name, and paste the same URL.
Connector URL
The ChatGPT surface is OAuth-only, so the connector signs you in before it lists anything. It renders results in an interactive chart widget and adds tako_visualize to the four default tools.
Developer mode needs a Pro, Business, or Enterprise plan. The generic endpoint works in ChatGPT too, with chart images in place of the widget.
